Theodora Ng’oma Ntaba was appointed Chief Executive Officer of VisionFund Malawi on 1st August 2023, following a successful tenure as Acting CEO beginning 1st October 2022. She has been with VisionFund Malawi since 2016, previously serving as Chief Finance Officer, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening financial operations and driving strategic growth.
With over 15 years of progressive experience in the financial services sector, Theodora brings a wealth of expertise from both commercial banking and microfinance. Her career includes impactful roles at Malawi Savings Bank and FDH Bank, where she honed her skills in financial management, client service delivery, and operational leadership.
Theodora holds a Bachelor of Applied Accounting (Audit & Information Systems) and is a Chartered Accountant with ACCA. She is currently pursuing her MBA, further deepening her strategic and leadership capabilities. She is a proud member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi and the Malawi Accountants Board.
Beyond her role at VisionFund Malawi, Theodora serves as Vice Chair of the Malawi Microfinance Network, contributing to industry-wide efforts to promote responsible finance, strengthen institutional capacity, and enhance the sector’s social impact.

Precious Nyondo joined VisionFund Malawi in March 2023 as the Chief Finance Officer. He holds an MBA from Mahatma Gandhi University, India; where he graduated top of his class. He is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from The University of Malawi, The Polytechnic (Now MUBAS). Additionally, he has certification in machine learning and data analytics which he also brings to the role.
With over 10 years of experience, Precious has served as a Big 4 External Auditor, Finance Manager, and Accountant for a number of organizations like KPMG, NESS LTD and Blue Financial Services Ltd. He is a passionate leader and also served as the President of International Students in India (Kerala State).
He is a passionate researcher and has published his research work on the use of data analytics and machine learning in Finance . Additionally, Precious is an author of two published books.
Donald Kadzamira joined VisionFund Malawi in 2010. He is a passionate client centric microfinance manager, working as Chief Operations Officer for VisionFund Malawi. Donald holds a Bachelors in Business Administration and is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with UNICAF university.
Donald brings 14 years operations management work experience attained in different roles within the VisionFund Malawi network. He has risen through the ranks having started as a Loan Officer where he worked in close collaboration with clients on the ground bringing economic transformation in their lives. He assumed the role of Chief Operations Officer in February, 2023 after serving as a Regional Manager for 5 years and as a Branch Manager for 7 years within VisionFund Malawi. As Chief Operations Officer, he works collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the firm and ensures excellent client service.
Samson joined VFM in 2016 as Business Development and Social Performance Manager from FINCA Malawi where he served as Marketing Manager during its transformation period into the first Deposit-Taking microfinance institution in Malawi. Currently he is the Head of Business and Innovations. With over 13 years’ experience in Microfinance industry, Samson holds a Bachelor of Science from the Mzuzu University and is pursuing an MBA.
He is a proud product of Microfinance training facilitated by Microsave and African School of Microfinance in Kenya, Harvard University in USA and the Economic Policy Institute from South Africa.
Ian Malumbe joined VisionFund Malawi in October 2022 as People and Culture Manager from Wealthnet Finance Plc where he was working as Human Resource and Administration Manager. Ian brings on board over 10 years’ worth of experience in human resource management having also worked with Sunbird Tourism Plc and Fargo Ltd responsible for human resource planning, recruitment, training and development and fleet management.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Management and is a member of Institute of People Management Malawi (IPMM).
Michael Ilemba joined Vision Fund Malawi in March 2023 as an Internal Audit Manager, having previously worked with FDH Financial Holdings and CHAM as an Internal Audit Manager and, later, joined Limbe Leaf Tobacco as an Internal Audit Supervisor. He is a certified Accountant with over 12 years’ worth of audit experience working in Financial, NGO and Manufacturing industries.
Among Michael’s academic achievements, he is a Chartered Accountant of both the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Malawi (ICAM), a Certified Financial Service Auditor (CFSA), and a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), he is also completing his Master's in Strategic Management.
He is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (United Kingdom). He joined VisionFund Malawi in March 2023 and brings with him 16 years’ worth of work experience in marketing management, communications, brand and sales management. He holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration (Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute), a Bachelors of Business Administration from The Polytechnic (Now MUBAS), a Postgraduate Diploma’s in Marketing (DipM MCIM) and a Professional Diploma in Marketing, all obtained from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
Previously he worked for Medical Aid Society of Malawi (MASM), Central East African Railways (Cear) and ADMARC in marketing managerial positions. He also worked as a full time Lecturer in Marketing for the University of Malawis’ Polytechnic (Now MUBAS).
He has further been involved in trainings and consultancies as a Lead Consultant for corporates and SMEs in customer service, business development, research, brand management, market planning and sales.
Unkhankhu is currently a Board Member and works as the Director of Education and Training under the Institute of Marketing in Malawi Board - IMM since November 2024.
Linda Mazakaza Nyirenda is the IT Manager for VisionFund Malawi effective August 2023. Linda is bringing to this role over 4 Years working experience having worked with same institution as Core Banking and Integration Officer for more than 3 years.
Linda has been the technical lead on projects such as Data Field Application (DFA), Mobile Money Application, Sun6-T24 integration and Customisation of T24 for Deposit Taking products. Prior to joining VisionFund, Linda has also worked at NBS Bank as Core Banking Intern and the University of Malawi, the Polytechnic as Part-Time Lecturer.
She holds Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information system from the University of Malawi, The Polytechnic (MUBAS).
She joined VisionFund Malawi in December 2018 as a Governance Officer. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Cavendish University of Zambia and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Malawi Institute of Management (now Malawi School of Government). She also holds a Certificate in Legal Studies from Staff Development Institute (Mpemba).
Previously she worked for Malawi Carer and Blantyre International University (BIU). She brings into the role her expertise in corporate law as well as corporate experience in governance, compliance, company secretarial, dispute resolution and legal matters.
